To improve consistency across the University and ensure parity of student experience we are making changes to our University structure. The new structure will consist of three new Faculties instead of the existing eight Colleges.

The new faculties are:

  1. Faculty of Medicine, Health & Life Science
  2. Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences
  3. Faculty of Science & Engineering

Within these new Faculties will sit Schools and Disciplines, you can see the full structure relating to your study here. Please note the structure of The College, Swansea University will not be changing. (more…)

Oystermouth Castle, MumblesSwansea’s historic Oystermouth Castle is reopening its gates for guided tours through the summer holidays.

From Monday, July 26, visitors will be able to hear colourful stories of the castle’s long history thanks to experienced volunteer guides from the Friends of Oystermouth Castle. (more…)

Buses in stationEveryone can travel for free by bus around Swansea throughout the summer months.

Swansea Council is funding the initiative to support families and boost retail, leisure and tourism as Swansea emerges from lockdown.

It will also help reduce emissions and congestion by encouraging people onto buses rather than using their car every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The initiative will run from July 30 to August 30 and is part of the Council’s £20m Recovery Plan, aimed at supporting families and boosting the local economy following the pandemic. The free travel offer also includes a special Sunday service to and from Gower which the Council recently announced.

The Council is working with the city’s bus operators to ensure passengers can travel safely and that all necessary Covid precautions are put in place. (more…)
