Graduation headsPlease click here for important information regarding Covid-19 entry requirements and safety measures for the Winter Degree and Award Congregations taking place from 7th-9th December 2021. It is important that you familiarise yourself with the procedures and requirements if you are attending the event.

For entry, you will need to demonstrate your COVID-19 status by providing either:

  • A COVID Pass i.e. proof of full vaccination – both doses received (with the second at least 14 days prior to the arrival at the venue); or
  • Proof of a negative NHS Rapid Lateral Flow test (such test to be taken within 48 hours prior to attending the event at the venue)

Additionally, we recommend that you take a lateral flow test no more than 48 hours before attending as a precautionary measure. Lateral flow test kits can be collected from: (more…)

You are expected to test for COVID-19 before you leave Swansea for the Christmas vacation.

You should do this by taking two Lateral Flow tests (and report the results) three days apart, before you go, as part of your regular testing.  You should time your tests so that you are taking your second test on the day, or the day before, you plan to leave Swansea so that you can travel as soon as possible after your second negative test.

You can obtain testing kits at various reception areas around both campuses. Full details can be found on our FAQ page.

Please ensure that you have sufficient test kits to allow you to carry out tests prior to your return to Swansea after the Christmas break.

Students in study areaDue to the emergence of the new Omicron Covid-19 variant, Welsh Government have introduced additional measures for safety.

All staff and students should now wear face coverings while indoors in learning and teaching environments, unless exempt. Including:

  • When working as part of a defined contact group in teaching laboratories, clinical settings and workshops, where activity risk assessments permit.
  • When moving around a space such as an open plan office or catering venue. When 2m social distancing cannot be maintained (unless it has been identified in a risk assessment that this would be unsafe).
  • Where identified on a risk assessment as an appropriate control measure.
  • When requested, where there are clinically extremely vulnerable students or staff or those who are at increased risk from COVID-19, including those who were previously shielding.

Please see our full guidance document on face coverings for more information.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping the University a safe space for all.
