Apply for a Greatest Need Fund Grant

Do you have an idea that will have a positive impact on a large audience? Or will substantially improve our students’ experience of University?  Or both?  Then apply for a grant from our Greatest Need Fund to develop it.   It could be for a piece of valuable research you are working on; an educational outreach programme; to set up an interest group – anything that meets one of these criteria.

The typical value of grants is up to £3,000, though in exceptional circumstances bids of up to £5,000 will be considered.

All staff and students can apply for a grant, either as an individual or as a team.

What is the Greatest Need Fund?

The Greatest Need Fund is supported by donations from our University’s alumni, staff and parents. Funds are distributed annually at the beginning of each financial year. Academic and professional services staff, representatives from the Student’s Union and current alumni/donors are on the disbursement panel.

In addition, these are desirable criteria for your application to have:

  1. Be inspiring and innovative
  2. Put Swansea on the map

How to Apply
