We are continuing to monitor the current COVID-19 (Corona Virus) situation and have a number of updates to make you aware of. We’re also requesting some information from you, to ensure that we’re able to give you the best possible support and guidance.
We are we aware that some of you are currently self-isolating or have taken the decision to remain at your University accommodation. In order for us to support you effectively, we need you to let us know if you remain in your University accommodation by emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org. It’s very important that you let us know, regardless of whether you’re self-isolating or not. Please ensure you state which halls of residence you are in.
If you have already left your on-campus accommodation, please let us know by emailing email@example.com. If you are planning on returning home, please email us at the same address and let us know when you are likely to leave your on-campus accommodation.

Catering (provisions between 20th and 30th March):
Blas (Singleton Park Campus) will be open from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 7pm, and from 10am until 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Fusion (Singleton Park Campus) will operate from 10:30am until 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
The Core (Bay Campus) will be open Monday to Friday, from 8:30am until 7pm and from 10am until 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
In order to operate these services in the safest possible way, some temporary adjustments have been put in place, including;
Outlets will only accept cashless forms of payment including credit/debit cards, dining cards, contactless, Apple Pay and Yoyo wallet.
Crockery will be removed from all areas and replaced with disposable alternatives.
Outlets will not accept reusable cups for hot drinks. However, the disposable cup tax will be suspended during this period.
Opening hours beyond the 30th March will be reviewed in due course. A hot food service will be maintained on both campuses throughout this period. Any amendments to opening hours will be communicated with you.

The Student’s Union reception areas at both campuses are currently closed until further notice. You can still contact the team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 01792 295466.
All SUSU Advisors are currently working remotely, as recommended by the Government this week. If you need any support or advice, you can contact the team on 01792 295821 or via email: email@example.com.
Costcutter will be open from 8am until 10pm, Monday to Friday until Friday 20th March.
From Saturday 21st March there will change in Costcutters hours. The store will be open from 9am until 6pm on weekends, and from 8am until 7pm weekdays.
ROOT will be open with reduced hours. The new hours will be 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday.
ROOT Zero will be open from 10am until 3pm on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th March. The store will be closed until further notice after this time.
JCs, Tafarn Tawe, Rebound and Fulton Outfitters are all closed until further notice.
The University and Union are working together to offer a food delivery service from Costcutter in order to provide extra support to our students. Further information will be available soon.
There are a number of changes to the way in which Student Services are able to support you.
The Wellbeing Service and the Disability Office remain open, however these teams are only able to provide remote support (i.e. they are currently unable to offer face-to-face appointments).
The amount and type of support these services offer may be further limited by student demand and staffing. The Wellbeing Service is also unable to accept new referrals at this time.
Halls of residence on both campuses remain open, and as such normal contract terms apply.

Gym and Facilities
All fitness classes have been cancelled with immediate effect and until further notice. We do understand that group fitness is important to many routines, and so our fitness partner Les Mills are offering 95 at home fitness classes via this link. This online platform will stay live as long as the Coronavirus pandemic continues and will not collect any personal data.

Singleton Gym, Sports Hall, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track will be available between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. They will not be available on the weekend.
Bay Campus Gym and Sports Hall will be available from 7am until 7pm, Monday to Friday and from 10am until 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
The MUGA facilities at the Bay will remain open for free-of-charge use by students/staff.
Sport Swansea will no longer be taking any group bookings at the sports hall or tracks, however these facilities are still open with the reduced hours for individual use.
As of tomorrow (19th March) Sport Swansea will only accept cashless (card or contactless) payments.
If you are able to attend our facilities please continue to;
Wash and dry your hands before and after any training session.
Wipe down all equipment after use. We have wipes and spray available at all desk points in our facilities.
Avoid unnecessary close contact with other users and staff.
In line with NGB and BUCs guidance, we will no longer be supporting any student sports club including training and fixtures. We advise that anything that has been planned should be cancelled with immediate effect.
Sport Swansea staff are available via email and Zoom to support students with any questions or concerns they may have during this time. Please do not hesitate to contact the team.
Bay and Singleton libraries remain open, but all services have moved to online only support (no face to face service). Find the latest service updates here.
We’re encouraging social distancing and have switched off alternate PC’s. We ask students to keep themselves safe when using open facilities.
It is likely that we will change opening hours of these buildings in the coming dates. Please check the library webpage regularly for information.
Inter-library loans are being extended, and any recalls on items are being cancelled; students will not have to return any items on loan and account blocks due to things like unpaid fines will be released.
Self issue for print stock at Bay and Singleton Libraries will continue to operate, and we are shifting to online only ordering of new learning resources for the foreseeable future.
Richard Burton Archives, South Wales Miners’ Library, Egypt Centre, Taliesin Arts Centre, St David’s Library (Carmarthen) and Banwen Library are now closed.
Online support is available and our staff are ready to help student with IT and Library queries; this is taking place through the servicedesk and email, phone, chat, Zoom, Teams and social channels. Find out how to contact the team here.
Bus services to and from the University are currently running as normal. First Cymru are doing all they can to maintain services but as the situation evolves, this may change.
