Important information and clarification

It is vital that you heed the following advice for the safety of students and staff and the wider community.

You should only request a COVID-19 test if you are displaying symptoms.

Symptoms may take some time to develop. Obtaining a test whilst you are not displaying symptoms and receiving a negative result does not mean that you will not develop symptoms and does not shorten your self-isolation period of 14 days. You must continue to isolate for the full 14-day period.

The guidance here explains when you do or do not need to request a Covid19 test.

We would also like to remind you that whilst isolating, you should not leave your flat or house under any circumstances, except for fire evacuations and for medical emergencies.

If you live in halls on campus and need assistance with obtaining shopping deliveries or parcels that you have ordered, please email us at and we will assist you where possible.

If you have had symptoms of COVID19 or a positive test, then you may end your self-isolation after 10 days and return to your normal routine if you do not have symptoms other than cough or loss of sense of smell or taste. If you still have a high temperature, keep self-isolating until your temperature returns to normal and seek medical advice.

Booking a test

If you are displaying any Covid-19 symptoms, stay home, isolate with your household and call 01639 862757 to arrange a same day test in Swansea through Swansea Bay NHS.

There may be a high volume of callers, however please keep trying the phone number and you will be able to book a local test.

A new local test site has also been opened in Swansea’s Grand Theatre. You must have an appointment to attend and these can be made via the Welsh Government website.

If there is anything we can assist you with or you have any queries please do get in touch at

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
