Welsh Government Regulations following the national fire-break

The fire-break in Wales will end on the 9th November and there will be a new set of national measures which will replace the previous local restrictions.

The key points to note are:

  • Two households will be able to join together to form an exclusive extended household (bubble). To help keep everyone as safe as possible at home, only people from your own household or extended household can meet in your private home. If one person from either household develops symptoms, everyone should immediately self-isolate.
  • There will be no travel restrictions inside Wales but during the month-long lockdown in England, travel will not be permitted outside Wales without a reasonable excuse.
  • Up to 15 people will be able to take part in an organised indoors activity and up to 30 in organised outdoors activities, providing all social distancing, hand hygiene and other covid safety measures are followed.
  • The need to maintain two metre social distancing and wear face masks in enclosed public places, including on public transport and taxis, will continue

Remember, we are still in a national fire-break until 9th November and you must not meet anyone you do not live with, either indoors or outside. This also applies to students in University accommodation.

The situation will be reviewed after a fortnight to see whether further changes to the national measures can be made.

We are aware the majority of our students are following Government guidelines and social distancing measures and we would like to thank you for your cooperation.
