Cyhoeddiad Llywodraeth Cymru ar gynlluniau teithio’r Nadolig i fyfyrwyr: Ar hyn o bryd, rydym yn archwilio logisteg profion llif unffordd Covid-19 newydd yn dilyn cyhoeddiad Llywodraeth Cymru ddo.

Sicrhau y gall ein myfyrwyr deithio gartref yn ddiogel ar gyfer y Nadolig yw ein blaenoriaeth ac felly rydym yn eich annog i drefnu i deithio gartref ar ôl eich gweithgaredd olaf ar y campws er mwyn i chi adael yn ddiogel. Hefyd, bydd myfyrwyr sy’n bwriadu aros yn eu llety Prifysgol dros gyfnod y Nadolig yn dal i allu gwneud hynny.

Er mwyn lleihau’r posibilirwydd o gludo’r haint adref, mae Llywodraeth Cymru’n gofyn i fyfyfwyr leihau cysylltiadau cymdeithasol cyn diwedd y tymor.

Bydd y Brifysgol yn eich hysbysu o gynlluniau dod ag addysgu ar y safle i ben y tymor hwn a hefyd drefniadau ar gyfer y rhai hynny mewn llety i adael y campws yn ddiogel. Rydym yn bwriadu parhau i gyflwyno addysgu cyfunol ym mis Ionawr yn unol â rheoliadau iechyd a diogelwch ac arweiniad y Llywodraeth.

Byddwn yn parhau i weithio’n agos gyda Llywodraeth Cymru yn y cyfnod cyn y Nadolig i gefnogi ein myfyrwyr a byddwn yn rhoi’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i chi o ran y cynlluniau profi.

The welsh government advised students leave by the 9th, if we can’t leave till after this date will we be able to travel after this date ?

  • Josh says:

What if my family lives in England or abroad? These questions have not been answered. The Welsh government says I can’t leave Wales, but at the same time, they are saying we should make travel plans before December 9th. What if my family doesn’t live in Wales? Can I still leave?

Can you explain this? Perhaps I’ve got a flight to catch in London.

    • Student Partnership and Engagement Manager says:

Students are allowed to leave Wales to travel home for Christmas, however you must take in to account that there is a lock down in England and students will be able to travel home once the national restrictions end on 2 December. Should you be travelling abroad, you must follow the rules in place for that country. For students wishing to travel home we are advising you to do so after your last on-campus activity to ensure a staggered exit for students.

If you have symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19 then you must self-isolate for the required period before travelling.

I want to visit my relatives in the EU for Christmas.
Where can I find out the exact dates and duration of the Christmas holidays?
After returning, where should I be in quarantine? At the campus or elsewhere?

    • Student Communications Coordinator says:

Hello and thank you for getting touch! Should you be travelling abroad, you must follow the rules in place for the country you are visiting as this may vary. For students wishing to travel home we are advising you to do so after your last on-campus activity to ensure a staggered exit for students. The dates for the Christmas holidays will be found here under term dates.

As for Quarantine, again you will need to check the status of that country and the regulations surrounding the return to the UK. We will be updating our FAQ’S surrounding Christmas Travel and we will inform you once this is done. For now please visit the Welsh Government Guidelines site which may answer some of your questions. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

  • Tom says:

Will students who will be traveling home to family members in high risk groups be given any priority in the Covid testing system?

    • Student Communications Coordinator says:

Hello Tom! Thank you for getting in touch. We’re still working out the logistics of testing, however Welsh Gov have said there should also be a particular focus on students and staff who are vulnerable, or live with someone vulnerable to COVID-19. Please bear with us until we issue another update surrounding this matter. For the meantime head over to the the Higher Education section of the welsh Government guidelines.

  • Rupinder says:

Is the 2nd of December the earliest I can leave wales and go home, in England. Or as a student will I be able to leave before then?

    • Student Communications Coordinator says:

Hello and thank you for getting in touch! We would advise that you do not travel to England until the 2nd of December. We must adhere to the Government regulations as England remains in lockdown until that date.
