Santander Cycles – Free Annual Memberships for Swansea University Students
Welcome (back) to Swansea!
We appreciate these have been challenging times for everyone, and that we all need a bit of a wellbeing boost!
So as a special offer, for this year only, we’re making Santander Cycles annual memberships free to Swansea University students!
The bikes are great for travelling from campus to campus and getting about town, and they’re so convenient and easy to use.
The free membership offer which you can claim at any time during the 2021/22 academic year, gives you the first 30 minutes of every ride free (then 50p for each 30 minutes thereafter). Once you’ve redeemed your free membership it will be valid for a full year!
You need to be registered with your @swansea.ac.uk email address to be eligible for the Swansea University FREE Subscription.

What is the code to redeem the voucher?

You will need to sign up first using you student email address. If you click on the link in the article, read the sign up section on the webpage, follow the instructions to activate your account, then you’ll receive an email confirming your bike usage. Hope this helps!
I signed up using my student email address a few years back but I don’t have any options to be able to access the free membership as I used to input a code but this doesn’t seem to be the case here. Could you advise me?
Hi Michael! Sorry you’re having issues. So once you’ve registered your email address (via the link in the article) and confirmed your university account, in the active tariffs and rental activity section, you should see the ticket ‘Swansea Univeristy CampusBike 2021’. If you still can’t see this I would advise that you contact Jayne who is our Travel Coordinator. Using this free annual Subscription, is the first 30 minutes of every ride free? or do the membership rates apply only to the first bike I hire and from the second ride, will standard pay as you ride charge of £1 will be applied for first 30 mins?

In the active tariffs and rental activity section, I see the ticket as Swansea University CampusBike 2021. Is this same as “Free annual membership”? or will I be charged £5 every month?
Hello Toby and thank you for getting touch! Great news that you’ve signed up to the free annual membership! We can confirm that you will not be charged £5 per month. The Free annual membership is the correct one. The first half hour of any journey is free, after that it’s 50p every half hour.
