Hand on Puzzle pieceWe are pleased to share with you, the new CONNECT website which has recently been updated and improved, based on student and staff feedback. The website is now more user-friendly and includes bilingual promotional videos and materials.

Any student at Swansea University can access CONNECT’s free and confidential peer-support service, peer support groups or range of helpful resources. There are also volunteering & CPD opportunities available for both students and staff.

This year, CONNECT have partnered with The Foundation for Positive Mental Health to provide free access to the Feeling Good App – an evidence-based wellbeing programme which is available to all staff and students. The app contains a safe, effective, and non-stigmatising programme, Positive Mental Training, which is widely used within the NHS for increasing wellbeing and recovery from stress, worry, and low mood.

Feeling Good’s mind-body programme is derived from Olympic sports psychology and contains a set of physical and mental exercises. This encourages a positive state of mind, letting go of the negative emotional triggers which underpin distress, whilst simultaneously increasing concentration and focus.

Benefits of the app:

  • Helps calm the body and mind
  • Rapidly promotes deeper sleep and concentration
  • Aids recovery from mental distress
  • Develops all-round mental wellbeing
  • Combines physical relaxation with positive outcome-focused visualisations
  • NHS-accredited
