We are currently looking at our academic provision post-Christmas and are planning to deliver the following principles in January should Welsh Government guidelines allow.

  • We will continue to ensure our campuses are a safe place for our students and staff, maintaining regulations in line with Welsh Government guidance as appropriate. Measures such as face coverings, lateral flow testing, one-way systems and appropriate ventilation will remain in place.
  • Teaching will be delivered in Teaching Block 2 with greater room capacity and run to a timetable that is close to our pre-Covid model. There will be more face to face in person teaching and more opportunities to engage with other students in academic environments.
  • Research will be undertaken in a manner that is close to our pre-Covid model, rebuilding the ways of interaction between PGR students, supervisors, stakeholders and the wider research and PGR community.
  • We have learnt positive lessons from the pandemic and listened to student and staff feedback, therefore we will be increasing flexibility around teaching delivery, keeping areas of good practice such as lecture recording and enhanced focus on mental health.
  • The needs of those international students who cannot come to Swansea due to travel restrictions, along with self-isolating and clinically vulnerable students who cannot attend will continue to be met through an appropriate level of online provision and research supervision. MyUniSupport will remain in place as a single point of contact for Covid matters and to support students with any related concerns.

We will continue to provide updates via email and our social media pages as planning progresses for Teaching Block 2 and will communicate any changes to Government guidance or Swansea University provision. Our latest student FAQs can be found on the MyUni web pages.
