‘Taking your breath away: Lung disease and the development of an artificial lung’
Swansea Science Cafe welcomes Dr. Melitta McNarry from Swansea University to talk about the development of an artificial lung on Wednesday 24th April at 7:30pm.
With respiratory disease killing more people in the UK than coronary heart disease, and the known side effects of drug treatments and limited availability of lung transplants, there is an urgent need for the development of artificial lungs. In this talk, Dr. McNarry will discuss the research behind the development of ambulatory artificial lungs.
