JOHN Internationally renowned DV8 Physical Theatre bring their powerful new production to the National Theatre. JOHN, authentically depicts real-life stories, combining movement and spoken word to create an intense and moving theatrical experience. Lloyd Newson, DV8’s Artistic Director, interviewed more than 50 men asking them frank questions, initially about love and sex. One of those men was John. What emerged was a story that is both extraordinary and touching. Years of crime, drug use and struggling to survive lead John on a search in which his life converges with others in an unexpected place, unknown by most. http://www.taliesinartscentre.co.uk/index.php

Join us for a night of fun… ‌On Friday, 5th December 2014 the Sustainability Team is going to run the Big Xmas Blackout.

Blackout Poster English

The Blackout event will run from 5.30pm to 8.00pm followed by a pizza dinner for all volunteers and an amazing Blackout variety after-party in JCs @ 9pm-11pm. The variety show will feature performances from all genres including poetry, live music, dance, circus and theatre. The Blackout is part of the December ENERGY & WATER AWARENESS MONTH campaign. Aim of the Blackout is to highlight and reduce energy consumption, make financial and carbon savings and raise awareness to improve energy habits. The challenge is to turn-off all non-essential equipment in office areas that has been left on before the weekend (i.e. computers, printers, lights, mobile phone chargers). Afterwards, we will rank the switch off rate in all audited buildings and compare energy usage during the ‘Blackout’ with energy use on a comparable weekend. This will show us the real savings that can be achieved with just a few small changes to the way we work.

Don’t miss this event and sign up now for a great night out with your peers and colleagues! To sign up as a volunteer contact sustainability at sustainability@swansea.ac.uk or visit website and event on Facebook.
