Whether you’re back from a summer break or starting your life at Swansea University – welcome to the 2015-16 academic year.

There have been many changes at the University over the summer, for example the opening of the fabulous new Data Science building on the Singleton Park

However the biggest change by far is that we now have two campuses – and the Estates & Facilities team would like to take the opportunity to provide an update on some to the facilities available at the Bay.

There are a range of catering, café and bar services across the Bay Campus that have been developed to provide a comprehensive and complementary offer.

Full details, including opening times, are available on the following link:

Also, during the week commencing 21st September, the bar in the Core will be open every day, until the flagship 52 degrees bar is open.

Tesco Express will open in mid-October and a Santander bank branch will open in mid-November. In the meantime, you can get cash from the Shell garage on Fabian Way, about 1km east from the campus entrance.

The sports hall and gym will be open in the week commencing 5th October, and full information about sports at the Bay Campus can be viewed at:Sport_210915

The Students’ Union building at the Bay is expected to open in the week commencing 26th October, but make sure you get involved in the many student events that are taking place at the Singleton Park Campus, and in the city centre. Full details can be found at

If you have any questions about any aspect of your life on campus, please visit the MyUni Hub based in the Abbey Stable Block at Singleton Park Campus and the Tower Information Centre at the Bay Campus.

23 September is Bi Visibility Day, an international event to raise awareness of and celebrate Bisexuality.

Bisexuality can often be invisible and it can be harder for bisexual people to talk to family and friends about their sexual identity. You can help make the world, and this university, better, by improving your knowledge and raising awareness of bisexuality.

Come along to the information stand in the library between 10am and 2pm on the 23rd September to find out more. Bi-Vis-Day-poster
