If you have completed a course with us in 2016, you will be contacted from November 10th and asked to complete a Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey. This is a short, national survey that all universities must conduct3

We will be asking you what you have been doing, 6 months after you completed your course, whether you’ve been working, travelling, gaining life experience, we’d love to know.

The results from the survey are then anonymised and used in essential statistics such as league tables and university guides such as Unistats. So the more responses we get the better chance Swansea University has of a good outcome.

You will be contacted via:

  • Email (where you can complete online)
  • Post (you can respond with a paper questionnaire and return to us freepost)
  • Telephone (where you or a third party can respond to the questions)

You are welcome to opt out of the survey anytime by responding to us with the contact details we’ll provide. We really look forward to hearing from you and please remember that Swansea Employability Academy (SEA) is still available to provide you with help and advice, free of charge, for 5 years after graduation. Contact us at or by calling 01792 513266.

picture133Important notice for all students – Swansea Switch! The Big Xmas Blackout is happening on Friday 2nd December @ 5.30pm-8.00pm

As part of Energy Awareness Month and our efforts to highlight and reduce our energy usage especially prior to the upcoming break‚ SHE Services (Sustainability team) will run a blackout exercise on the evening of Friday 2nd December. The event will run from 5.30pm to 8.00pm followed by pizza party in JCs.

Can I volunteer to help?

Yes – we need students to volunteer to help turn off the equipment. Sign up for the event here

We would like to request your proactive participation in this by switching off the lights and other equipment that are not in use.

The blackout will involve staff and student volunteers turning-off all non-essential equipment in office, teaching and kitchen areas that has been left on before the weekend (i.e. computers, monitors, laptops, printers, lights, water dispensers, coffee machines, etc.).

Afterwards, we will rank the switch off rate in all audited buildings and compare energy usage during the ‘Blackout’ with energy use on a comparable weekend. This will show us the real savings that can be achieved with just a few small changes to the way we work.

Highlights from the last year’s Switch Off:

  • A 63% switch off rate compared to 43% in the previous year (2014) in 13 audited buildings
  • On the Switch Off weekend last year (Dec, 2015), 6% less electricity was consumed compare to the weekend before.

Contact us at for any further details.
