This year a Swansea University SafeZone will be set up around the centre of Cardiff for the Welsh Varsity. All students are encouraged to download the app prior to 5th April. Instructions can be found on the SafeZone website with login details sent to your student email account two weeks ago.
During the day, the University security team will be in Cardiff to assist with any issues you may have or to respond if any alert is pressed on the SafeZone app.
Have a great and safe Varsity!

Student Services and Campus Life are organising a Peace Vigil in memory of the attack in Westminster.
It will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 29 March, in front of Fulton Lawn from 2.30pm – 3pm and include a minute’s silence at 2.43pm, the time when the attack happened last week.
This event is for staff, students – anyone who is part of the Swansea University community. As Kev Child, Director of Student Services, said in his message last week:
The tragic events in London this week are likely to have a devastating impact on our communities at international, national and local levels. Unfortunately, some of the coverage in the media and on social media is doing nothing to alleviate the rising tensions overseas or at home.
Now more than ever our Swansea University community needs to look to support each other, to understand and be sympathetic to the pressures each of us face as we deal with our own fears, frustrations, confusion and, possibly, anger.
Terrorism aims to divide community cohesion by promoting fear and suspicion of others making groups and individuals vulnerable in many different ways. Let us not allow that to happen to our precious community here.

There will be a Cheese and Wine Tasting evening, with a glass of Cava, and 4 tastings of South African wines, on Friday 31 March, and you’re invited to attend.
There will be live music performances from local performers: Tom Martin and Eleri Angharad.
The event will take place in JCs Bar, on the second floor of Fulton House (Singleton Campus), doors will open at 7pm.
Tickets cost just £5, and all proceeds from the event will go to Mind — for better mental health. Everything’s included in the price of the ticket.
There will be the option for free entry into Tooters, the on-campus night club, for all who attend this event.
Please book in advance (http://swanseasu.nutickets.com/21873), because places are limited for this event.
