Students have been working together with the Students’ Union and University sustainability and IT Services staff to bring Ecosia “the search engine that plants trees” to the University.

Thanks to all their efforts, from 4th February, green search engine Ecosia will become the default search engine in Internet Explorer on all University open access student PCs (over 1200 devices in University learning environments and study spaces such as the libraries and PC labs). (more…)

Swansea University’s Public Engagement Forum will host the Swansea heat of FameLab 2019 on Wednesday 30th January at 19:30 at the National Waterfront Museum in partnership with Oriel Science Café.

This is the UK’s biggest competition to discover new talent in the communication of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

The winners of the Swansea heat will go through to the Wales regional final, which will be held at the Waterfront Museum on 27th February. The winner will take part in a Masterclass with some of the UK’s top science communicators before competing in the UK final at Cheltenham Science Festival on 3rd June.

The national winner will then go up against more than 25 other international finalists to win the title of FameLab International Champion.
