hands holding a sphere of lightWe are delighted to announce that Oriel Science will once again be hosting “Super Science Swansea” on Sunday 8th March 2020 at the National Waterfront Museum, during British Science Week (6th – 15th March 2020).  Interested in hosting a stand, running a workshop or giving a talk at this event – then please read on.

“Super Science Swansea” builds on the success of our city centre pop-up exhibition, which was open from September 2016 to June 2017 and attracted 17,000 public visitors and school students. Since the pop-up, Oriel Science has been involved in more than 100 events interacting with over 100,000 people. These include workshops in schools, the Swansea Air Show, the Urdd Eisteddod, the Swansea Fringe and science festivals in Swansea, Merthyr and Cardiff, exhibitions in museums and the Glen Vivian Art Gallery, as well as talks in schools, libraries and at our monthly “Oriel Science Cafés” in the Waterfront Museum.

Our 2019 “Super Science Sunday” event (on 10th March) hosted more than 22 research groups from across the University and attracted 3,600 visitors in just five hours!

We invite you to join Oriel Science in showcasing your research to the community at “Super Science Swansea”, We welcome exhibit ideas related to any STEMM activity (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Medicine).

Please submit your proposal by completing the simple on-line form below. Please could you complete this by 15th January so that we can begin planning the day’s exhibits and activities.

If you’d prefer to buy tickets as an when you need them, a day ticket will cost you £3.50 (or £2.35 if you have MyTravelPass)
A day ticket gives you a days unlimited travel on services 4, 4A, 8, 9 and 10 as well as the X1, X3, X4, X5, X7, X8 and 38 services between Bay Campus and the Quadrant bus station.
It can be purchased at any time and it’s valid right through to the end of the day’s service. Day tickets are available on the bus with a valid student ID.
